Are you problem solving, relaxing or a bit of both, at Ben'ס?
Beginning in June, 2021, with a collection of Sundays, Ben'ס & Their Tumbleweeds, continuing on with a collection of Dailies, Villainous Soliloquy (2.0), alternating Sundays and Dailies with Tuchus, and finishing off December of 2022 with Erin The Lizard. In 2023 it has evolved to include all formats of comics, inlcuding Ben’s roots in mini-comics and DIY ethics. As throught his life, a development of an artistic process, aesthetic and perspective matured.
Rhythmic refrains in repetition. A raw Americana aesthetic. A juxtaposition of nostalgia. A punching up, political perspective. Utilizing Ben’s mildly mannered comics lexicon voice. Punkish, as cool as a cucumber.
Walkin’ & drink’en character portraiture. caricature? Featuring, “Ben’s,” a wet-your-whistle establishment, servicing what Ben identifies as, and identifies with, tumbleweeds. A respite from reality.
If you take a gander, you may take each aspect as a piece of a puzzle. A puzzle you share agency in creating. Each time you return, there is a chance you will find another piece. This is comics after all. We make our own relevance and continuity.
Is something afoot?!
Jericho, VT.
